REMODEL AT 18506 OLYMPIC VIEW DRIVE
Dear Mr. Huber,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can sign off on
the permit, however, the following information needs to be clarified in a written response:
1. Proiect scope: The Site Plan indicates the project will "enclose existing stair w/existing roof."
Are exterior walls being added or replaced? In looking at Sheets A-2.0 and A-4.1, I can't tell.
Or, is the existing roof being extended out over a previously uncovered stairway area? If there
is no exterior change being proposed, let me know. Regardless, please provide responses to
the following comments.
2. Lot coverage: On the Site Plan, the lot area is listed at 6,575 square feet. The Snohomish
County Assessor has it as 7,660 square feet. Please confirm. Update the lot coverage
calculation as appropriate to include all decks, the house, and any new portion of building.
According to ECDC 21.15.110: "Coverage means the total ground coverage of all buildings or
structures on a site measured from the outside of external walls or supporting members or
from a point two and one-half feet in from the outside edge of a cantilevered roof, whichever
covers the greatest area."
Height calculations: On the Site Plan, the A and D height corners need to be moved west to
enclose the deck area since it is serving as a carport. Please update the height calculations as
appropriate on the Site Plan and shown the lines of average original grade, maximum allowed
height, and proposed height on Sheet A-5.0.

Please submit three copies of your updated site plan (one being reduced size of 11 x 17 or smaller)
and two sets of any updated sheets of the building plans. Please make all submittals to a Permit
Coordinator, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (8 am to 12 pm only on Wednesdays). If
