Dear Kylene,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can sign off on
the permit, however, the following information needs to be clarified in a written response:
East pole sign area: According ECDC 20.60.045.C, "[tjhe total allowable sign area for
freestanding signs on general commercial sites shall be 56 square feet or one-half square foot of
sign area for each lineal foot of street frontage, whichever is greater, up to a maximum of 160
square feet of freestanding sign area." While the proposed pole sign on the south by 244"
Street would satisfy this requirement, the proposed pole sign on the east by Highway 99 does
not. The street frontage of the lot at Highway 99 is approximately 148 feet. At a rate of 0.5
square feet X 148 lineal feet, the pole sign on the east can only be a maximum of 74 square feet.
Please revise as appropriate.
