Dear Mr. Carter,
I have reviewed the October 24 resubmittal for above building permit application for the
Planning Division. Thank you for addressing my concerns relative to the geotech report on the
site plan. Before I can sign off on the permit, the following information still needs to be
clarified in a written response and through the submittal of updated plans:
1. Height calculations and elevations: Verify the height calculations shown on the site
plan are accurate relative to the survey; it appears that the height corner elevations
shown do not agree with what would be taken directly off the survey. To make it
easier in this case, I would recommend using the elevations shown on the survey
rather than calculating the datum at.100' and measuring the corner elevations from
there. From the survey, it would appear that the datum point would be approximately
185' and the corner elevations (A — D) would be about 197.5, 198', 196' and 194.5.
The updated calculations need to be shown on the site plan and then reflected on
Sheet 2A as lines of average original grade, maximum allowed height, and proposed
height of the addition. Note that the maximum allowed height in the R5-8 is 25' above
average original grade rather than the 35' currently indicated on the plans.

Please submit three copies of your updated site plan (one being reduced size of 11 x 17 or
smaller) and two sets of any updated sheets of the building plans. Please make all
submittals to a Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (8 am to 12
pm only on Wednesdays).
