SIGN PERMIT AT 23726 00
Dear Sirs,
The referenced building permit expires on February 8, 2014. Corrections need to made quickly
to bring the site into compliance in order to avoid the project going to enforcement.
Outstanding issues include:
1) Lack of compliance with permit BLD20130796.
® The sign permit allowed the channel letters on the canopy if the pole sign was removed.
The pole sign has not been removed.
® The permit stated the letters were to be non -illuminated —they are being illuminated.
2) Lack of compliance with the sign code in ECDC 20.60.
® Not only has the pole sign not been removed, advertising signs have been hung on them
as well as another pole on the northeastern corner of the parcel.
® A -frame signs are not permitted.
® The flags near the A -frame sign are not permitted.
® Temporary signs are limited in quantity, size and duration.
Please remove the pole sign, the A -frame, the other advertising sign on the northern pole, and
cease lighting the letters on the canopy. Once that is done, contact me for an inspection. If this
isn't completed by February 8, the project will be sent to enforcement.
ECDC 20.60.100.0 & D of the sign code describe next steps for that process:
C. Notice of Violation. Whenever the planning director becomes aware of a
violation of the provisions of this chapter, the planning director shall cause a
notice to be sent to the alleged violator informing him or her of the violation, the
applicable code section, and a time within which to remedy the violation. The
notice shall also advise of the penalties for continued violation of the code as
specified in this chapter. If the violation has not been corrected within the time
limit specified, the planning director shall refer the matter to the city attorney's
office for institution of appropriate legal action.
D. Penalty. Any person violating any provision of this code shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of $25.00
for each day of continued violation.
Please take the necessary steps to bring the site and permitted sign into compliance with the
sign code and permit conditions. Failure to do so by February 8 will result in the project being
sent to enforcement.
