W Dear Tracie, I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can sign off on the permit, the following information needs to be clarified in a written response and through the submission of updated plans: Maximum signage amount: Please indicate on the plans the length of the wall containing the main public entrance to the building. The site is allowed a maximum of one square foot of signage for each lineal foot of that wall. 2. Height of sign: Please indicate the height of the top of the wall sign. 3. Pole sign: There is an existing pole sign at near the corner of 100th Avenue and 238th Street SW — see attached. Pole signs are not a permitted sign type for the Neighborhood Commercial sign district according to ECDC 20.60.0201. As a result, it is considered to be nonconforming in accordance with ECDC 17.40.040 since the site was annexed in 1995. The sign may be maintained but may not be expanded or altered other than changing the name of the business on the sign. While no work is proposed to the pole sign at this time, its square footage counts against the total square footage of signage allowed for the site. Please indicate how many square feet the pole sign is, subtract that amount from the maximum amount determined in #1 above, and adjust the size of the wall sign lettering (or remove the pole sign), as appropriate. Please make all submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (8:00 am to 12:00 pm only on Wednesdays).
