During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator.
1.Provide a cross section detail of the wall and foundation. A six by eight wood beam onto the
existing slab does not meet code. A 6x8 concrete stem wall poured on top of the existing slab
will work as long as steel reinforcing bars are used. One bar drilled into the slab at 4 on
center, and one continuous horizontal bar as well.
2.Indicate minimum anchor bolts at 6 on center.
3.Clarify the method of floor framing. What supports the new floor? If is attached to the wall or if
sleepers are used to transfer the floor load to the existing slab.
4.What type of attic insulation and what R-value?
5.Hardwired and interconnected smoke alarms will be required in the existing home at all
bedrooms and in the hallway outside of them.
6.Include the new water heater and any other new plumbing or remodeling work performed on the
existing home.
7.The floor plan needs dimensions for the window and door locations.
8.Roof plan to show rafters or trusses and bearing locations.
