Dear Mr. Penaich:
I have reviewed the above building permit applicationfor the Planning Division,and it was
found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed
before review can continue:
1.Sign Height:The “P”and “O”in the Portofino lettering cannot extend above theroofline
of the fascia board as proposed. The Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC)
section 20.60.020.Astatesthat no sign may extend above the highest point of the wall or
roof, or above the eave or drip line of a pitched roof on which it is located. Please revise
the sign accordingly.
2.Sign Illumination:Pursuant to ECDC 20.60.020.M.2, internally illuminated signs in the
neighborhood commercial areasmay only light the letters. Based on thesubmitted sign
plan I cannot determine whether the proposed sign illumination is meeting the above code
section.Please submit a revised lighting plan for the sign that shows how the illumination
will be in compliance with the city code.
Please submit three copies of your revisedplan sheetsto a Development Services Permit
Coordinator. Our office hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, between 8:00
