Unable to locate any grading / cut / fill calculations or quantities for the project. This item has not been addressed. 2.TESC • Show how / where onsite water will be retained for sediment removal prior to discharge. This item has not been addressed. • Show how offsite water is to be intercepted and routed around site during construction. This item has not been addressed. • Show a method for dealing with groundwater, should it be encountered during construction. This item has not been addressed. • Because of its proximity to water bodies and its location within the Earth Subsidence and Landslide Hazard Area (ESLHA), it’s recommended a Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) monitor the TESC during construction. No notes to this effect appear on the plan set • Per ECDC 19.10.040(C), a statement is required from the engineer who prepared the geotechnical report addressing the adequacy of the civil plans and TESC in meeting the recommendations of the report. This item has not been addressed. • Include the appropriate Edmonds Standard Details with the plan set. This item has not been addressed. 3.Drainage. The City understands that collected stormwater will be directly discharged to Puget Sound. 4.Peer Review. Address the points raised by the peer review of the geotech report: Please refer to the second Landau peer review report dated August 13, 2008 •~~Done The possible increase in slope instability caused by the fill behind the retaining wall; •~~Done The consistency between the geotech report and the plans regarding the method for supporting the retaining wall; •~~Done The lack of geogrid reinforcement behind the retaining wall; •~~Done Showing how and where the retaining wall drains; •~~Done Addressing the shoring / stability issues relating to excavating the 10’ trench for the slope drain; • The lack of invert information on the slope drain; This item has not been addressed. Per the Landau review, ”Confirm that the slope drain is at an appropriate location and depth consistent with the geotechnical report recommendations, and provide invert elevation on the plans.” • No construction details were included for the slope drain itself. This item has not been addressed. •New Item: The requirements for City building Inspections and Special Inspections by the Geotechnical Engineer of Record should be included on the design plans. •New Item: Landau notes the code prohibition against improvements that introduce water into the ground within the ESLHA include watering or irrigation systems. Please update plans to reflect this requirement. DATE E-MAILED 8/27/08 PAGE(s) 2 of 2
