ADDITION AT 724 WALNUT STREET
Dear Mr. Knight,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division. Before I can
sign off on the permit, the following information needs to be clarified in a written response and
through submittal of updated plans with changes called out:
1. Critical area checklist: Please submit a completed critical area checklist for the site.
See Handout P20 or it can be submitted online.
2. Accessory dwelling unit: The May 15 plans show the creation of an accessory dwelling
unit in a former storage area in the basement. That is not permitted unless a land use
permit for the secondary use is first obtained. Handout P1 describes what is needed
to make application for the conditional use permit as well as the standards that must
be met. ADU permits are Type II staff decisions with notice and the review fee is
$915.00. If the owners do not want to create an ADU at this time, remove the related
references from Sheet Al.

Please submit two copies of the updated site plan and two sets of any updated sheets of the
building plans. Please make all submittals to a Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday,
8:00 am to 4:30 pm (8:30 am to 12:00 pm only on Wednesdays). If you have any questions,
