Dear Mr. Rivera:
Below are our responses to your civil plan set review comments that were prepared on April 30,
2019. Our responses are shown in bold type and numbered to match the numbered comment
within the review letter.
ENGINEERING DIVISION COMMENTS
4. Per the city standard detail WA-180, a valve cluster will need to be installed at point of fire
line connection to the city water main.
a.Please update the Water Installation Notes on sheet C2.0 item #1 to reflect the
required install (call out all items to be installed on main line and fire line).
b.Because there is no proposed service tap, the 3’ spool shown within the WA-180
detail should not be installed.
Response: Concur. Sheet C2.0 – Site Plan has been revised to show two 8-inch MJxMJ
gate valves installed in line with the city water main. Additionally, the Water
Installation Notes on sheet C2.0 have been revised to highlight the installation of the two
8-inch MJxMJ gate valves, per comment 4-a. The Water Installation Notes have also
been revised to instruct the contractor to not install a 2-inch service tap and associated
spool in this area of the water main connection, per comment 4-b.
7. Please provide within updated plan sets the city’s standard Thrust Block details WA-150 &
151.
Response: Concur. Both City of Edmonds WA-150 and WA-151 standard thrust block
details have been added to C5.1 – Water Details.
8. Resubmittals for C1.0, C2.0, C5.0 & C5.1 will need to be provided as 24”x36” sheets.
Response: Concur. All sheets specified above have been printed in a 24” x 36” format.
