The concrete pour was planned for Wednesday, July 31. Contractor 0 in crew included Superintendent Steve Reedy and two laborers. Pam, City of Edmonds was also C m 0 present during a portion of the site visit. 0 C The reinforcement was mostly complete. It generally looked good. m m On the wet well 10" slab, I asked that the rebar cage be moved because it was not lined up over the north wall at the east end. They did this while I was there. I also asked that the existing concrete surface be cleaned up prior to concrete placement. Steve Reedy assured me this would 0 -M be done. The #3 hooks for the curb were not in place yet. They would be located exterior of the -4 hatch frame. in M On the new dry well roof slab, again I asked that the surface be cleaned up prior to the pour. Vi rim) 0 0 FM Steve said they would also caulk the form joints. On the north hatch opening I noted that an extra C ca bottom bar was missing. An extra #5 straight bar was available which was being inserted into the in 0 bottom mat while I was still on -site. M I asked Steve how he was going to cure the slab. He said a curing compound would be used. I said this was acceptable and to be sure to put enough on, I also asked about consolidation during z placement. Steve said they would be using a vibrator. Steve asked if the side forms could be pulled on Thursday. I said this should be ok. Application ofthe shotcrete is tentatively scheduled for Thursday of this week. The inspection included discussing m M the project with the site superintendent Steve. The reinforcement was mostly complete. It generally looked good. E: Two laborers were working on installing dowels for the crane rail corbel. The corbel 0, reinforcement consisted of threaded dowels and couplings. After shotcreting, dowels will be threaded into the couplings for the portion of the rebar outside the face ofthe wall. Steve said M M they would provide a roughened and keyed area at the corbel construction joint. This approach is M 0 approved. I told Steve that for the top hooked bars to be effective, they needed to be set within the top 1/2 of the roof slab. They are currently variable in location. He said he would be checking this. I asked that the diagonal bars at pipe penetrations be provided with some clear between the bar and pipe. They are currently in contact with the pipes. z I also told Steve that the bottom construction joint needed to be cleaned up, especially the north CO z comers where soil had fallen into the hole. Steve said this would be done, and the crew was working on this cleanup while I was on -site. 0 m I asked Steve about the plan for curing the shotcrete. The exact method was not yet determined, but he said they would be moist curing the surface.
