Visited project site to observe cast -in -place retaining wall placed on 5/10/07. The MTE report of
5110 indicated that the placement was non -conforming due to non-standard consolidation
techniques. The concrete was consolidated using rodding techniques with reinforcing steel rather
than a vibrator. The forms had been stripped to allow observation of the finished wall. There
were a few small areas of what appeared to be rock -pockets in the finished wall. Upon closer
examination, these areas appeared to be surficial flaws that were less than I/A inch in depth with

As requested, Associated Earth Sciences, Inc, (AESI) is pleased to provide this final letter regarding our
geotechnical construction monitoring observations performed at the above -referenced site. AESI performed
periodic site visits from July 22, 2003 through January 20, 2004 to observe site out slopes and foundation
drainage installation, as required by the City of Edmonds, based on our Technical Memorandum dated July
17, 2003. The results of our observations are summarized in our Field Reports Nos. I through 7, attached to
this letter. Due to a numbering error, there is no Field Report No. 4. As reported in our letter to
Dunlap Construction dated March 22, 2006, structural fill was not required for the project.
Based on our observations, in our opinion, the project earthwork has been completed in general
accordance with the recommendations presented in our geoteclmical engineering report dated April 24,
2003 and the Technical Memorandum cited above.
