Edmonds, WA 98026 cm Dear Mr. Davis: m 0 OC At your request WCSE has reviewed the referenced project to determine the implications of adding an approximate 8'x12' sunroom on the upper deck of the existing residence. It is our understanding the residence is located within m the Meadowdale landslide complex, and as such the native soils are prone to movement. Based on the as -built A -z-i foundation plan located in the City Edmonds Building Department, and a letter of pile placement verification by c z Cascade Geotechnical, there are fifty-six (56) 1 &inch diameter auger cast piles supporting the existing residence and existing decks. The geotechnical report by Cascade Geotechnical dated January 8, 1990 Job No. 896=32G gives N an allowable bearing load of twenty (20) tons, and a lateral load of five (5) tons per pile. Within the footprint of the proposed sunroom there are six (6) auger cast piles shown on the foundation plan that would aid in the support of the mn new sunroom. Based on the allowable loads of the piles and the relative minimal weight of the proposed sunroom, it = is our opinion the existing foundation is adequate to support the additional loads imposed on the foundations from the m rn_ � 0 sunroom.
