The purpose of this letter to outline the status of the referenced garage permits. The
original permit was obtained by a former property owner and taken over by you at the
framing stage of the project. The City required that the sheetrocking be completed to
separate the garage use from the storage use above and existing dwelling. The second
floor area is framed but is not sheetrocked. Because a bathroom was proposed on the
upper level the City allowed the waste to be roughed -in but the sanitary line is not
connected. Please be advised, a separate side sewer permit and inspection is required to
connect the building waste to the sanitary sewer line; no fixture in the batluoorn may be
used until this is done. A new pen -nit will also be required if you intend to sheetrock the
upper floor.
On March 31, 2005 an inspection was performed that required the mandoor leading to the
upper floor be hinged with self closing hardware —your contractor oil site indicated
another workinan was iminediately on his way to the jobsite to install the hardware and
assured me it Would be done. The correction also required that a handrail be installed on
the stair leading to the upper floor. Use of the lower level garage is granted; use of the
upper floor is not permitted until the complying mandoor is hinged to be self -closing and
the stair handrail is installed to current code. Building permits #2001-0248 and #2004-
0238 are officially closed.
