Removal. Specifically this survey anticipates :
E] Renovation. This may not include use of destructive search methods (i.e., -
breaking into walls, etc.) unless expressly directed by client in writing.
Z Demolition. Destructive search techniques are highly recommended and may
be implied by statutes which require identification of all suspected ACBM's prior
to demolition. [as in 40 CFR 763.85 (a)(4)(i)] owner to develop an

exposure to building occupants for ACBM's which will be.left in place.

Currently only persons having the AHERA Building Inspector training are considered acceptably
accredited by all governmental agencies.

assessing (friability, condition and potential for damage)
documenting (the above with locations)

Procedures for sample collection often seem complicated to the layperson. What appears to be the
same material located in different areas, may, or may not, require additionaf samples, depending on
the usage of each area. Sprayed and troweled on materials require at least three tests to confirm
they are not ACBM. Differing quantities of suspect homogeneous materials also affect the number
of samples needed.
Analysis of samples must be done by an accredited laboratory.
Assessing friability is'done per the EPA definition that the material can be crumbled to a powder
using hand pressure. Neither the forces expected to act on any material or differing local regulatory
consensus can be anticipated by this inspector.
An accredited Asbestos Management Planner should be consulted for assessments of conditionor
potential for disturbance.
Estimated quantities are given as a courtesy and should not be relied on for bid purposes. An
accredited As is required for quantifyin ACBM's.
The inspector who prepared this report hereby certifies by signature below, that

Reasonable discovery efforts were used in preparing this report. Standard industry practices
recognize that every square inch of a building cannot reasonably be exposed during the survey
process, especially in occupied structures. Wall interiors, underground pipes, septic tank liners,
every area under carpets or burn debri, are all examples of this. Consequently, some materials
concealed which are not identified in this report. Materials not addressed in this

Residence
Roofing - The home has a pitched roof which has asphaltic 3-ta b shingles

installed over a tar paper vapor barrier. No chimney flashing
sealant was noted. The attached carport is a flat roof with a built
up system of tar and felt layers. A layer of seal coating was also

applied on the top of the flat roof.

Ceilings & walls, interior - Wall and ceiling substrates are a typical smooth sheetrock with

taped joints system. Many walls also have thin wo od paneling
attached. Many ceilings have asbestos popcorn texture

applied. The atrium ceiling is cellulose tiles attached to
cement asbestos board panels (CAB). The walls in that
room are sheetrock over CAB panels. Formerly this had been
a furnace room, but that unit was removed long ago,
Wall surfaces, exterior - Most exteriors are a mix of wood and brick products over a tar
paper vapor barrier felt. Siding under the carport is plywood.
Floors - Most floors are carpet applied directly to the wood substrates,
but several types of sheet vinyl were identified. The center and
East bathroom floors were confirmed to contain asbestos.
A few floors have ceramic tiles.

Insulation, structural - Ceilings have blown in fiberglass over fiberglass batt insulation.
Walls and floors have fiberglass batt insulation.
Heat sources - Electric baseboard heaters are the primary source of heat for
this home. Fireplaces were more likely used for recreational
purposes.
Insulation, thermal system - No TSI's were discovered. Water pipes are insulated using poly
foam materials.
Glazing compounds - Windows are both aluminum and wood framed, but glazing
compounds were not found.
W iring - Wiring has plastic sheathing only.
Doors - Doors are wood, wood and glass or metal and glass.
Adhesives - Adhesives were not found. Cove base is wood in this home.

Insulation, thermal system - TSi's were not found. Water pipes are not insulated.

not discovered.
