In terms of building permit #2004-0489, there has been no activity of construcbon since July of 2004 at
20105 Maplewood Drive due to foundation problem discovered while internal demolition was in
progress. The problem is serious enough that I do not intend to continue remodeling this home.
Instead, I am in a process of obtaining a new home constructon loan to build a new home. Thus,
current permit will not be renewed and should be closed. In near future, I will submit new home
construction permit request to City of Edmonds' Development Service Department.

Dear Mr. Nakajima:
The purpose of this letter is to inforrii you that the subject building permit expired
without receiving any required City inspections (copy enclosed for your convenience).
Unfortunately, all building permits are required, pursuant to Uniform Building Code
Section 108, to obtain required progress inspection approvals. If the work has not yet
started simply inforrn the City in writing and the permit'file shall be closed. If work has
progressed but has not yet beeninspected you are required to renew the permit for fees
totaling S1,399.00 (payment due to the City by July 22, 2005). Once the City is in receipt
of the fees I must request that you schedule for a progress inspections by July 29, 2005.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me during City business hours at
425-771-0220 cxtension 1226.
Failure to respond in writing or remit fees by the deadline and/or failure to schedule for
future inspections shall result in the issuance of an Order to Correct Violation Notice, the
first step in the City's Civil Penalties process whereby fines may be assessed in order to
