When our rough -in plumbing was inspected and passed on 8-26-04, Mike Snook
informed us that we would need a separate note of approval from your department
regarding our use of
"Studder" vents for two of our kitchen sinks. This letter is our request for such
approval.
I have attached a copy of our kitchen plans for reference (building permit #2004-0579).
As you can see, there are three sinks in our kitchen project with sink #1 being the
primary
sink. Sinks #2 & 3 are prep sinks which will be used less frequently. # 1 is vented
conventionally through the existing vent system through the roof. We are proposing the
use of the Studder vents on #2 because it is an island sink and on #3 because it would
require opening finished walls and ceilings upstairs in order to penetrate the roof.
Would you please approve the use of these vents? I expect to request our framing
inspection for 9/20/04 and would like to have your approval to show the inspector.
