Dear Mr. Kvernmo,
This report presents the results of our site inspections and field observations made
during construction of the single family residence at 17001 77th Place West in Edmonds.
Following our final plan review and onsite pre -construction meeting, we performed
periodic site inspections that included the following:
Erosion Control — this site is on a gentle hillside development that is protected by
heavy native shrubs and mature trees on the descending slope area to the
northeast; a silt fence was placed along the east side of the building pad area to
control storm water runoff and to prevent siltation on the adjacent slope; no
erosion or siltation problems occurred during site excavation and foundation
construction on this site; final landscape planting will provide permanent erosion
control for this site.
e Observe and Monitor Excavation — the building pad was excavated to the final
subgrade elevation and there were no temporary cut slopes required for this site;
maximum depth of excavation was on the order of two feet on the south side of
the building pad;
Foundation Installation —the foundations consisted of continuous bearing wall
footings for the house and garage; exposed soils in the footing trenches consisted
of medium dense to dense silty sands and stiff silts; the entire building pad was in
native soils; the recommended bearing value of 2000 psf was confirmed by site
inspection;
Subdrains— Perimeter subdrains were installed around the house and garage
foundations, and they were embedded in drain rock and covered with geofilter
material;
