RE: Plan Check # 2006-0815
Project: Tenant Improvement— Midori Teriyaki
Project Address: 7533 OIympic View Drive, #B
In reviewing the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information, clarifications
or changes are needed. Please have your engineer provide written responses to each item below, and revise
the construction plans. Please submit 2 sets of revised plans/documents, to Marie Harrison, Permit
Coordinator.
1. Revise description of work and plans to reflect all of the work being done to this tenant space, such as
replacing exterior doors and windows, new restroom plumbing fixtures, door hardware, etc.
2. Clearly note the boundaries of this tenant space. Is the back market area also used by this tenant?
Please clarify plans.
3. Specify the use of the back area noted as "existing open space". Describe how this area is used.
4. Provide occupant load calculations for the entire tenant space per IBC Table 1004.1.2 (for example the
factor for the dining area is 15, the factor for the kitchen is 200, etc.).
5. Show location of existing supply grill for the Type I hood make-up air in relation to the new walls.
6. Revise wall construction detail to show required seismic anchoring of partitions to the roof structure to
meet IBC 1621.1.2, ASCE7, section .6.2.8.1 for lateral bracing (typically 2x wood/metal studs are used
to meet this bracing requirement).
7. Exterior and interior doors must have accessible hardware that does not required tight grasping, pinching
or twisting of the wrist. Note the door hardware types on the plans.
8. Provide an enlarged plan of the restroom with details to show that it meets accessibility (see enclosed
example). Clearly note alterations needed to comply with accessibility codes.
9. Provide review letter from Snohomish County Health District. Phone: 425-339-5210
10. Contact State Labor and Industries for minimum electrical requirements in the new wall. A separate
electrical permit will be required for this work.
