RE: Edmonds Home Health and Hospice Tenant Improvement
Permit #2006-0752
21616 76th Ave W, Suites 101 & 102
Dear Mr. Sheldon:
This letter is in response to your letter dated August 4, 2006 regarding accessibility of the
reception counter. We have read the information provided with your letter, including
pages from the ICC Seminar publication 2003 IBC Accessibility and Usability with 2003
ICC A117.1 Standard and e-mail from Evergreen Healthcare.
The approved plans for this permit show a labeled "reception" area which would imply
that there is customer service, whether public or inter -organizational, even if only
exchange of communication. On page 151 of your attachments, under Sales and service
counters, reception desks are noted, as well as exchange of communication. This would
confirm that a portion of the reception desk must be accessible per ICC/ANSI Al 17.1
section 904.
If there are no reception activities at this office, which appears to be the case per the e-
mail included with your letter, and the "reception" desk functions only as an employee
workstation, then you could submit a revised floor plan of this area (stamped/signed),
relabeling it accordingly (8 %2" x 11" faxed to my attention).
Please feet free to contact me if you have further questions.
Sincerely,
Ann Bullis
