During review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications are needed.
1) It was the understanding of the permit coordinator who accepted this application that the
existing foundation footprint would remain the same and no earth was being removed or
disturbed per letter from the structural engineer. Foundation plan shows new deck footings and
new footing/foundation for garage addition. Please see enclose Meadowdale Earth Subsidence
Landslide Hazard Area Checklist Permit Submittal Requirements. Each item with a star is
required for a complete submittal. Please also note that additional corrections and/or peer review
may be required once this information is received.
2) Complete the enclosed plumbing fixture count form for any new or re -located fixtures.
3) Provide existing floor plans.
4) Show size and location of attic access and provide attic ventilation calculations.
5) Provide beam calculations for all engineered beams (micro -lams, glue-larns etc.), any span
greater than 8' or any beam with point loads. (For example the 6x 10 deck beams, garage
headers, 1 3/4 x 117/8 beams, etc.)
6) Specify all post sizes.
7) Provide calculations to justify that larger posts and or footings are not required at beam. B (8 3/4 x
24 GLB or option steel beam). Specify size and complete calculations for metal beam option.
Specify post sizes for both options.
8) Show how the (3) 11 718 x 1 3/4 micro -lam on the upper floor framing plan is being carried to
bearing. It does not appear that there are posts below to carry the loads.
9) EOR to verify SW 1 length at stairs to account for windows shown on plans. Calculations do not
show the windows.
10) Special inspections are required for field welding. If steel beam option for beam B is to be used
complete the enclosed special inspection agreement signed by the owner, the general contractor
and the special inspector and submit to the City for approval prior to issuance.
Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a
written response to each of the above items to a Permit Coordinator.
