Dear Applicant,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found that the
following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before review can continue:
Parking:
1. Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC) Chapter 17.50.020.A.1.a requires
single-family dwelling units to maintain at least two spaces per dwelling unit. Typically, property
owners achieve this through use of garage space. Also note that ECDC Chapter 18.95.030.B states
that, “on a single-family (RS-zoned) lot, one tandem space may be provided in order to meet the
minimum required parking on the property.” Please show on your site plan how your project
maintains the two required parking spaces. If you have questions about the minimum parking space
measurements required to achieve this figure, please contact the Engineering Division at
425.771.0220.
Floor Plan:
2. Please provide a floor plan that specifies the use of the room. Please refer to the attached
handout #B61 (Residential Remodel, Attachment D) for information required for submittal. Note that
you may not have another dwelling unit (separate kitchen facilities, etc.) in this area without first
applying for and obtaining an ADU permit through the planning division. If you have questions
about this process, please don’t hesitate to ask.

(affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the above items. Please make all submittals to
the Development Services Permit Coordinator (Marie Harrison) Monday through Friday, 9am to noon or
