2) Based on new plan provided the deck footings do not meet conventional construction. Provide a soils
evaluation stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed Professional Geotechnical Engineer
for the deck footings near the rockery area which includes recommendations for footing design. Also,
provide foundation plans/section views stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed
Professional Engineer (Geotechnical or Structural) taking into account the recommendation in the
Geotechnical Engineer's soils evaluation. Provide a section detail to show footings in relation to firm
bearing undisturbed soil and the existing rockery. Footings must extend to firm bearing undisturbed soil.

4) It is unclear how the deck roof beam supports are carried to bearing. The dimensioned spans on tine

10) Clarify deck framing near the garage area. There are anchor bolts shown horizontally at the
"existing rim joist" is this acting as a ledger? If so this connection is non -conventional and
calculations stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer are required
and special inspections will be required for installation (i.e. epoxy). Also provide calculations for
4x10 deck beams in this area (some are hanging off others creating point loads and, specify type of
hangers to be used. Provide section details through this area to clarify. Clarify deck framing at the
sistered joists. Joists must sit on the existing exterior wall of the house and top of the proposed beam or
it does not meet conventional construction and must be stamped and signed by a Washington State
Licensed Professional Engineer.
