Dear Applicant,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found that the
following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before review can continue:
Retaining Wall Height:
1. How tall is the proposed retaining wall (as measured from top of wall to
ORIGINAL grade)? Will any of the retaining wall be placed in the setback area? It looks pretty
close. If so, the wall cannot exceed three feet in height, as measured from top of wall to original
grade. Please redline the site plan and show the original grade and note if any of it will be located in
the setback area.
“Landing”:
2. What is the length of this deck/landing? What is the height of the deck/landing? What
material is the deck/landing made out of? If it is over 30” in height, it may not be located in the
setback area. Height is measured from original grade. Please elaborate. If the deck/landing is under
30” in height, it may only intrude up to 1/3 into the setback (so it may be located as close as 3.4 feet
from the northern property line. Please redline the site plan and show these dimensions. Or, please
remove the door and the landing all together so Planning can sign off on the permit.

(affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the above items. Please make all submittals to
the Development Services Permit Coordinator (JoAnne Zulauf) Monday through Friday, 9am to noon or
