Dear Mr. Leren,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found that the
following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before review can continue:
Height Calculations:
1. Please revise the height calculations.
a. Please modify the height rectangle to enclose all of the structure and provide height points for the
four corners of the rectangle (see enclosed handout on height calculations).
b. Please update the elevations accordingly – make sure the project remains under the 25’ height
limit.
c. If you change the datum point, please note this on the site plan.
d. The geotechnical report states that there is approximately 5.3’ of fill on site – please verify
topography and make sure that height calculations are taken from the ORIGINAL grades. Please
note this on site plan (if you have more than one set of contours, please label which set is original
grade).
Topography:
2. Please show the contours in two-foot intervals (five-foot intervals shown).
Patio/Landing:
3. Please provide the height, above grade, for the east patio/landing. Please also show
it on the site plan.
Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU):
4. Sheet 5 appears to show what could be interpreted by future
owners as an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and this site does not have land use approval for an
ADU. Please read the handout on ADUs (enclosed) and sign/have notarized the “Statement on
Accessory Dwelling Units” which needs to be recorded. You can choose to either have this statement
recorded at the County, and they will charge you $32 for this legal size document. Or, if you prefer,
for an additional $15 service fee we can take it up to Everett and get it recorded for you – if you
choose this option, please pay $47.
SEPA:
5. Thank you for submitting an Environmental Checklist for the grading proposed on lot 15.
Please know that the fee for processing the SEPA Checklist is $420 and that we need a notarized
statement for the mailing labels (enclosed). Please turn in these items at your earliest convenience so
SEPA processing can continue.
