Dear Applicant,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found that the
following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before review can continue:
ADU Covenant:
1. One of the conditions of the conditional use permit approval (CU-2006-101) for the
accessory dwelling unit was that the owner, William English, record an ADU covenant with the County
Auditor’s Office.
Recording Requirements:
a. Thank you for submitting a notarized copy of the covenant for us to
record. However, the County has strict recording requirements, especially having to do with the
borders (or margins) of the document. The paper you submitted is 8.5” x 11” and does not meet
the County’s strict border requirements for recording. I have re-printed out a legal-size copy for
you to have notarized and sign again. Please turn this in at your earliest convenience and we will
be happy to help you get this document recorded.
Fee:
b.You have mailed us two checks. Check #106 for $15 and check #107 payable to
Snohomish County for $32. I am sending these checks back to you, voided, because I believe it
will be easier to simply include the recording fee with your building permit fee (so you can pay it
when your building permit is ready). Because you have indicated that you would like us to record
the ADU Covenant for you, the fee will be $47 in addition to your building permit fee.

Coordinator (Marie Harrison) Monday through Friday, 9am to noon or 1pm to 4pm. If you have any
