During re -review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised
plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a
Permit Coordinator.
1) Please specify what the previous space was used for. The application form just called it
interior space (i.e. converted existing bedroom into bathroom and hall). Please provide
existing floor plan for remodel area.
2) Use of space is still not noted on the plans. The only one noted is the bathroom. Please
specify use of space for area between library and hall. It appears to be a closet. If this is a closet
then the library is considered a sleeping room and must have a complying egress window and
smoke detector. Please note on plans.
3) Please label stairs as existing. Also please clarify, plans say they go to the upper floor and the
assessors show this as a one story home with basement. Is there an upper floor so 2 floors
plus basement? Stairs shown on this application do not match stairs on approved plans covered
under permit 2006-1351. If they are to change please submit revise plans (framing and floor) for
approved permit. 2006-1351.
4) Please provide calculation for new triple 2x10 to support roof loads. Also note nailing of
multiple joists to create beam. Plans show a 4x4 past to support this beam. Upgrade post to
6x6 all the way down to the foundation to provide full bearing or provide calculations and
specify post to beam connector to justify 4x4 post. Provide general roof and floor framing plans
to verify how all loads are being carried to bearing and that walls being removed are non-
bearing.
5) On new submittal the foundation plan was removed. Please add general foundation plan for
this area only to show how all loads are carried to bearing. Please clarify if all work being
done will completed in phases under separate permits. It was my understanding that all the
footings poured in the basement shown on the plans was done for future remodel and this
application does not impact those. Please be aware that effective July 1, 2007 the City will be
adopting the 2006 version of the International Residential Code and it is possible that some
codes may be changing that could affect your project so you may want to consider this in the
phasing of your project.
