Building Division comments for proposed ADU

In reviewing the above noted application for an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), the
Building Division has the following comments:
This property is located in the North Edmonds Earth Subsidence and Landslide Hazard
area and is subject to the development requirements of Ordinance 3632 effective April 2,
2007. Packets and maps explaining the permit requirements for this area are available for
purchase at the front counter on the second floor of City hall. I highly recommend
purchasing a packet to in order to fully understand all the permitting requirements.
A building permit is required for any remodel, addition, site work, patios, retaining walls,
etc that will take place for this ADU. Specific Building Division issues will be provided
to the applicant upon review of the building permit application. Please note that no work
in the North Edmonds Earth Subsidence and Landslide Hazard area is exempt from
permit requirements. Final inspection must be made and occupancy approval granted by
the City Building Inspector prior to the area being used an ADU.
