RE: Plan Check #2007-0302
Project: Endontics — Tenant Improvement
Project Address: 21911 76th Ave West, Suite 203
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Provide written responses to each comment and where changes can be
found on the plans. Submit revised plans/documents to Marie Harrison, Permit Coordinator.
1. Provide listed and tested 1 -hour assembly references for walls, floor -ceiling and roof -ceiling (such as
from IBC Chapter 7 tables, Gypsum fire Resistance Design Manual, UL, etc.) and note all construction
requirements of the assembly on the plans so they are constructed and inspected properly in the field.
2. On the 1 -hour medical gas closet detail, show the required ventilation (supply and exhaust to maintain
negative pressure) and provide calculation to determine the minimum cfm for the ventilation system
(IFC 3006.2). Dimension the actual height of the medical gas room so the cubic feet of the room can be
verified.
3. On Sheet ID -3 there is a sink (P5) noted at the accessible counter. Please clarify and show that
minimum width and depth of the accessible counter will be provided (ICC/ANSI Al 17.1 section 904).
4. Change the label on all plans from hallway to corridor for the main common corridor area.
5. Note on the door schedule for doors B 1 and B2 that they must be self-closing, 20 minute fire rated with
gaskets, and "S" label.
6. Note on the glass schedule and door schedule that wire glass is not permitted to be used as safety glazing
(WAC 51-50 2406.1.2). The fire rated window assemblies must meet IBC 715.4.
7. Show the accessible maneuvering distance and clear floor space at door 7 (see enclosed handout).
S. Show the locations of emergency lighting and method of power back-up (TBC 1006).
9. Please be aware that cross -connection control assemblies will be required on connections to the potable
water system to prevent contamination. Common equipment/fixtures where this is required in dental
offices are at the autoclave, washer/disinfector, cuspidor, sterilizer, etc. which will require Reduced
Pressure Backflow Assemblies. This information must be included with the deferred plumbing permit
submittal.
