RE: Plan Check # 2007-0795
Project: Hegyi Remodel
Project Address: 19620 81St Place W
During re -review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised
plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a
Permit Coordinator.
1) 8/31/07 Based on our conversation at the counter more work beyond what is shown on the
plans is and will be done. Please do not go an -y further on the project until permits are issued.
Please submit new framtqg plans and details Nhowinz all work ride rafters, etc and clean
show how all loads are carried to bearing (posts, etc.) Unfortunately a written description of
the work is not sufficient. Please submit plans and details. It is hard to determine at this point
but it appears that some of the work you described will not meet conventional construction. In
this case you will need to hire a Washington State Licensed Professional f Engineer to provide
calculations to iustify construction that is non -conventional. 8/28/07 Please provide general
roof framing plan for the kitchen, stair and living room area only. I am still confused by the
written roof framing description. The kitchen layout and skylight plan shows the ridge and
rafters but what is supporting the ceiling joists, what happens at the living room/stair area
etc. More information is needed for me to know for sure the walls being removed are non-
bearing. Provide general roof framing plan to show that the walls being removed are non-
bearing.

6) 8/31107A ter speaking with Ann Bullis the 34" door at the top of the stairs will meet the
intent of the code but the exit door is a minimum exiting requirement and therefore it must be
a 3' side hie ed door per code. 8/28/07 Please clarify, response. So new stairs and landing will
meet current code (7 31"max rise, 10" min run and 36" landings? Also, door at the top of the
stairs will be 36" minimum? After reading the response to this original correction I also
realized that the front door will be replaced. Current code requires a minimum 36" side hinge
door for the main exit out of the building. A 61"French door would not meet this. Please also
clarify on response. According to your conversation with Ann Bullis, Assistant Building
Official at the counter, it is not possible for the new stairs to completely meet the current code.
Provide stair detail for proposed stairs (rise, run, handrail, headroom, etc.) and clearly show the
stair that will be 1/16" higher. Please also supplement the detail with a written request for
modification from the code explaining the reason the stairs can not be constructed to meet
current code. Also, a 36" door at the top of the stairs to maintain the landing and stairway width
is required. if this is not. possible please also include this in your written request for
modification.
