During re -review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,

4) 9/17/07 Please add all of your proposed information to the plans. Show the windows being
re laced and the walls where the insulation is proposed. Please add to all applicable pages.
8/15/07 Just chanzina out the windows can not substitute for lack of floor and wall
insulation. Please propose addition upgrades (i.e. additional insulation throughout existing
attic chap a out other windows in the main house etc.) or provide component performance
analysis(see below). Also, we need to know what the wall insulation is in this portion of the
residence. Response said the walls are sheet rocked and appear to have insulation. Please
specify R_value of insulation. 816107 Although the room was previously converted it was not
done with permits. Now that we are permitting it the insulation must meet current code. This
correction still applies. Minimum insulation R -Values for habitable space is R-21 wall, R-30
floor or R-10 slab and R-38 ceiling. Based on plans submitted this area does not meet minimum
insulation requirements. Complete a component performance analysis found at
www.energy.wsu.edu or submit letter stating proposed upgrades to existing residence such as
new windows, more attic insulation, etc. to compensate.
5) 9/17/07 response to my correction states that the roof will be altered to make the upper floor
bedroom meet the minimum 7' headroom. Please provide roof framing plan and section details
showing haw this will be done. $/15/07 Minimum headroom habitable ac..e is ,7'per 8305
and then the roof can slope from there. Upper floor does not meet minimum headroom pier
plans submitted. 8/6/07 floor framing plan needed to check joist size, spacing and span.
Provide framing plans for second floor. Also specify use of space, headroom, and dimensions.
