During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Provide written responses to each comment and where
changes can be found on the plans. Please resubmit to Theresa Umbaugh, Permit Coordinator.
1. Revise floor plan to show required exits from the new spa area and existing swimming pool area

2. Show emergency lighting locations and method of power backup. (TBC 1006)
3. The new fire barrier wall separating the spa/hallway addition (A3 occ.) from the parking area

to show how this will be done.
4. The proposed openings in the fire barrier wall cannot exceed 25% of the length of the wall, and
a maximum area of any single opening cannot exceed 156 s£ (IBC 706 and 715.). Revise to
show compliance.
5. Doors in series (the hallway door and door to the parking area) must meet ICC/ANSI Al 17.1

6. The doors from the swimming pool and into the spa area must meet maneuvering clearances of
ICC/ANSI Al 17.1 section 404.2.3 (Figure 404.2.3.1 enclosed for your convenience). Revise
plans accordingly.
7. IBC 2406.3 requires the proposed windows to the safety glazed. Wire glass is no longer
permitted to be used as safety glazing. Revise plans accordingly.
8. Door hardware must be accessible (such as lever -style).
9. Detail 1/A-2 shows a raised platform at the edge of the spa. Provide construction plan for the
spa deck construction. Show the extent of the raised portion of the spa deck on the floor plan.
Show the 5 foot accessible turning radius in the spa room in the area where the deck is not
