Request to Exceed Driveway Slope of 14%

This letter is being sent in response to your request to exceed the maximum allowed
driveway slope of 14%, dated April 25, 2007 and to confirm for your records the
approval indicated in my e-mail dated June 22, 2007. After- review of the submitted letter
and civil plans for the development it is understood that the request to exceed the 14%
driveway slope is only for a small portion of the driveway and specifically limited to the
area where it,joins the existing alley.
Additional grading of the existing alley is not a preferred approach as the alley not only
serves this development but also other existing properties. Re -grading could alter
drainage and access to other properties.
For these reasons, it is found reasonable to allow a maximum driveway slope up to 18%.

Dear MInGebert,
It is requested that a waiver is granted allowing the driveway to be
constructed using a 15.5% grade in lieu of the 14,yo inaxit3-wra as required per
E,CDC.
Reasons supporting the waiver are:
1. The ave. grades of the driveway is 741/,).
2. The 15.5°, area comprises only 200 square feet of a 600 square foot
driveway.
I We have looked at using the alley but an existing drain limits any
further grading.
