RE: Planning Division Comments for Building Permit # BLD-2008-0062 (First Review)
nd
Thomas Fagan Grading Permit | 9201 232 Street SW (RS-8 Zone)
Dear Applicant,
I have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found
that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before
review can continue:
1.Geotechnical Report:
The Critical Areas Determination for this site on 2/4/2008 (file CRA-
2008-0007) determined that this site is on or adjacent to a geologically hazardous area. A
(brief) geotechnical report (pursuant to ECDC 23.80.070.A.2) is therefore required with this
permit to ensure that grading proposal can be accomplished safely without affecting the
critical area (you may submit an addendum to any existing geotechnical materials that you
may already have for the adjacent property if it’s all generally for the same project).
Unfortunately, pursuant to ECDC 23.40, this proposal is not an allowed or exempt activity.
2.SEPA:
I noticed the project is staying under the 500 cubic yard adopted SEPA threshold,
which is great. I just need to confirm – is this grading part of the anticipated grading for the
adjacent Valhalla project, or is this in addition to the previously issued SEPA determination
(issued 12/19/2007 for a maximum of 9,000 cubic yards of cut and 2,000 cubic yards of fill)?
Please clarify.
Thank you for your cooperation. Please provide a written response to the above-mentioned
items. In addition, please redline your plans to reflect any changes – or, if you are submitting
new plans, please submit three site plans (one must be reduced size) and two sets of the changed
pages of the plans. Please make all submittals to the Development Services Permit Coordinator
(Marie Harrison) Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm (except Wednesdays). I am the Planner
assigned to this project, and I look forward to working with you. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact me at (425) 771-0220, extension 1778, or at
coccia@ci.edmonds.wa.us.
Sincerely,
