Scott,
I have reviewed the sketches in your e-mail along with the counter details on Sheet A5.1. The use of the top of the 112
door as the accessible customer counter would not be considered equivalent to an accessible portion of the counter
(same counter top for other customers). This has been confirmed with ICC on a previous project. Therefore, a portion of
the 48" high counter shown on your plans must be lowered to a maximum height of 36" with the same depth as the higher
portion of the counter, and meet either parallel or forward approach per ICCIANSI Al 17.1 Section 904. Please resubmit 2
sets of full-size plans (affected sheets only) to Theresa Umbaugh, addressing all outstanding comments.
Sincerely,

Ms. Bullis -
Your letter on the above referenced projects, Olympic View Apartments rehab project included a comment on the
reception counter for the lobby. I reviewed your comments and reviewed the requirements of the space, including
accessibility.
Currently this space does not offer ANY accessible work surfaces, and our renovation design provides an .
accessible work surface work area, AND a low reception counter as a 36" high wall with a 12" wide wood cap as a
lower countertop surface. We have also provided an accessible door with appropriate clearances.
Please see attached and please call if you have any questions.
