See attached structural comments from city consultant. Respond to each item in writing. Sheet A09 1. 5. Please provide detail for the construction of the parapet wall. Nothing is provided except note parapet wall. Please provide detail to show code compliance. Detail 1/A09 is s ecp ified but not provided please provide applicable detail for this location. Sheet A14 2. Detail 19: Provide analysis for this connection. It appears, based off the locations of the lag bolt., this will not meet the required clearance based off the drawings. More information is required to show how this connection will support the required code design loads. Please modify accordingly. Sheet A15 3. JB hangers are not approved to be used in contact with treated lumber. Please modify accordingly. New ILJS hangers are also not approved to be use in contact with treated lumber. Please modify accordingly. Sheet A04 4. 18. Please specify the required post to base connections. Nothing is specified at this time. For example the (3) 2x6, or the 6x6. Please clearly modify the drawings accordingly. This still does not appear to be addressed at this time. Please clarify upon response. 5. 19. 40. Please provide details and analysis for the new exterior retaining wall that is being installed. This still has not been provided at this time. This still does not appear to be addressed at this time. Please clarify Lipon response. b. 20. 41. Please clarify the size and the required reinforcing of the footing at the exterior wall at the garage opening. This still has not been modified accordingly to show what the required size of the footing will be and the reinforcement. This still does not appear to be addressed at this time. Please clarify upon response. 7. 21. 42. Please provide analysis that the existing foundation under the 77 " tall wall will support the additional forces incurred by the second story addition. This still has not been provided at this time. This still does not appear to be addressed at this tinge. Please clarify Won response. Sheet A08 8. 27. 51. Please note 7B hangers are not approved to be used in contact with pressure -treated lumber. Please modify hanger specification accordingly. Simpson Strong Tie Corrosion Information. Drawings now note to use NS 1.81.9.5 but this also is not approved to be used in contact with treated lumber. Please modify accordingly. 9. AOR, submit analysis for the PT 2x12 to support the concrete roof tiles and the required live loads. This was not submitted. This still not submitted upon the response. Please submit this when responding. Sheet A14 10. 34. Detail 19: Please submit analysis for the ledger support. (Also the required hanger to be used) I believe this detail is not correct as drawn based off the required locations for this to be used. Please modify accordingly. Analysis submitted states throe h bolts but the details show lag bolts. Please modify as required per the analysis. 11. 35. Detail 15: The detail is not per the adopted code but per the UBC. For example 20 pounds per linear feet does not meet the international codes as adopted by the state of Washington. Please modify the detail to be in compliance with the adopted code.
