During re -review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised
plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a
Permit Coordinator.

3) 3/5/08 Specify size of new floor joists as well as their spacing. Also, Specify if foundation will
be mono pour. If not, then vertical #4 hooked rebar is required at 4' on center. Provide
complete foundation, floor and roof framing for the bathroom addition. Also provide a section
detail showing foundation, wall construction, etc. See attached Addition Handout for minimum
submittal requirements.

6) 3/5/08 Note ventilation requirements on the roof frame plan. Provide attic ventilation
calculations according to R806.2 (1 square foot for every 300 square feet of attic space if using
both cave and ridge vents and 1 square foot for every 150 square feet if not).
7) 3/5/08 2x4 walls will not accommodate R-21 batt insulation. Note rigid insulation or upgrade
to 2x6 walls. For the new bathroom addition the minimum wall insulation is R-21. Please revise
plans.

9) 3/5/08 Because the ceiling joists in the new living room are being removed it is eliminated the
tie far the existing roof therefore collar ties are required in the upper third of the existing roof
area at no more than 4' on center. Note on plans. For new vaulted ceiling over the living
room, Per R802.3.1 Collar ties are required in the upper third of the attic area. Please show
collar ties on roof section detail and clarify that the new ridge and rafters shown is under the
existing roof (i.e. no roof loads are applied just there to hold sheetrock for vaulted area).
