Provide written responses to each comment and where changes can be found on the plans. Please resubmit to Theresa Umbaugh, Senior Permit Coordinator. 1. Revised code references to current 2006 editions. 2. The Lighting Summary Forms submitted were incomplete. Please complete the attached forms and provide 2 copies with the resubmittal. 3. City archive records show this building is Type VA (1 -hour rated). It was discovered during the previous permit application for this tenant space (permit never issued) that the required 1 -hour construction had been altered. Provide section details showing that either the existing bearing walls, roof -ceiling, columns, beams are complying 1 -hour rated assemblies, or that they will be as part of this permit (show details and listed/ tested assemblies). IBC Table 601, 703 4. Provide Iisted and tested firestopping assemblies on the plans for the various types of penetrations in the fire rated assemblies. IBC 712 5. Note the uses and occupancies of adjacent tenant space(s) on the plans so occupancy separations can be verified. IBC Chapter 3 6. Provide elevation view (existing and proposed) for the altered entry. 7. Dimension accessible maneuvering clearances for the main entry, front office, rear office and breakroom (see enclosed copy from ICC/ANSI A117.1 Figure 404.2.3.1). 8. Show 5'-0" turning radius in restroom, including encroachments (door can encroach into the turning radius). ICC/ANSI A117.1 section 304 9. A minimum 50 cfm exhaust fan is required in the restroom. 10. The rear storage area is shown on the plans as no longer part of this tenant space. Note on the floor plan the types of items that will be stored in this storage area and which tenant space it is associated with. Note the occupancy of the adjacent tenant space to occupancy separation requirements can be verified. 11. Show the parking lot at the rear of the building. 12. The alterations require accessibility upgrades per IBC/WAC 3409.7. On the plans clearly show that the exterior and interior accessible route of travel complies with current code, or provide upgrades per the previously referenced section. If you choose to use exception #1 of that section, provide a letter stamped and signed by the architect (reference the code exception), stating what parts of the existing site and building are not accessible, the project cost and what 20% of it equals, list the upgrades that will be done as part of this permit as well as showing that the total cost of the upgrades is at least 20%.
