Dear Ms. Madath:
To follow up on our conversation on March 6, 2008, your building improvements as issued
under City building permit #BLD 20070910 have encroached onto an existing City utility
easement for a sanitary and/or storm sewer pipeline across your property. Enclosed is a City
encroachment permit application for you to execute prior to the final acceptance of your building
permit.
In the remote event that the City WOLIld need to excavate in order to access tile pipeline under
your building, the City would require you to remove a portion of your garage. As we discussed,
if options exist to avoid having to remove the garage in order to make repairs or renovations to
the pipeline, the City will evaluate those options first. This is with the understanding that the
City does not incur costs in excess of the cost to reconstruct the sewer line in, its current/original
location.
Sincerely,
ZOEL F. ILLER, P.E.
