The entry to the building is an existing alcove that does not meet current ADA accessibility requirements; however, it is in like design to other contiguous storefront entries. Attached are photos of the existing entry (#1), adjacent storefront (#2) and overall street perspective (#3). This project proposes an Alternate Design for accessibility to main entry by providing an exterior door buzzer with an annunciator inside the space to acknowledge that assistance is needed. Persons in need of entry assistance shall be notified via signage to push the call button located per photo #3, this will activate a chime announcement inside the tenant space for an employee to provide the assistance. Please accept this package as the Alternate Design for the above referenced Plan Check number and let us know if further information is needed. We appreciate your consideration to this matter.
