RE: Permit: 2008-0312
Project: Reichler Tenant Improvement, Suite D, E, F
Project Address: 21827 76th Ave W, Suite D, E, F
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Provide written responses to each comment and where
changes can be found on the plans. Please resubmit to Marie Harrison, Permit Coordinator.
1. Ok
2. Still outstanding: The revised structural calculations (dated 217108), submitted as part of the
revision to permit 2007-0382, show the south wall of the restrooms and janitor room as a
required shearwall. The tenant improvement plans show a portion of this wall removed.
Provide revised structural calculations (stamped and signed) to justify or redesign to include the
full shearwall.
3. Still outstanding: A portion of the corridor wall that has been moved as part of this TI is also a
shearwall per the revised calcs noted in item. #2 above. Provide revised structural calculations
(stamped and signed) to justify or redesign to include the shearwall as currently approved.
4. A turning space is still needed (ICC/ANSI A117.1 603.2.1): Revise barrier free restroom
notes to include vertical grab bar, include toilet paper dispenser requirements, revise code
reference to 2006 IBC and ICC/ANSI A117 (2003) with State Amendments. New restroom
must be accessible per IBC 1109.2 unless an exception to that code section is used. The floor
plan notes "1106.11.5.1 Exc.", however we are unable to find this code section. Please revise
plans accordingly.
5. Ok
6. We do not understand how you think ICC/ANSI Al17.1 404.2.6 exception applies to these
spaces. All spaces in this tenant space must be accessible, including normal operation of
opening, closing and locking (if locks are provided) pocket doors. This comments is still
outstanding. Provide detail of accessible door hardware for pocket doors. Door hardware
cannot limit minimum 32" clear opening requirement (ICC/ANSI Al 17.1 section 404.2.2) and
you are only calling out a 34" door.
7. Maneuvering clearances at doors 204D, 208D and 207D still do not comply. The walls
obstruct the required clearance. Please revise. Dimension maneuvering clearances at the
following doors per ICC/ANSI A117.1 section 404.2.3: 208D, 207D, 206D, 205D, 204D.

13. nfortunately the forms are under the previous edition of the code and must be resubmitted
(enclosed for your convenience). Since you are choosing the Prescriptive Lighting Option,
provide complete lighting information on the plans to show that compliance to WSEC
1521 is being met. Lighting Summary forms submitted were not filled out. Please resubmit.

included). For track lighting, list the length of the track (in feet) in addition to the fixture, lamp, and ballast information.
2. For proposed Watts/Fixture, use manufacturer's listed maximum input wattage of the fixture (not simply the lamp wattage) and
other criteria as specified in Section 9530. For hard -wired ballasts only, the default table in the NREC Technical Reference Manual
may also be used. For track lighting, list the greater of actual luminaire wattage or length of track multiplied by 50, or as applicable,
the wattage of current llmiting devices or of the transformer.
