Marie,
am emailing you to respond to this request you sent to Kristin Hanson regarding the Ray Residence:
"I am going through the old Ray file and I noticed we are still waiting for a compaction report
from the Geotechnical Engineer of Record for the underground storage tank removal. Please
provide that inspection report so we can close out that file, W20070518."
During the initial demolition, the contractor informed us that this area would be filled in when they constructed
the new deck footings. However, the project turned to full demolition and the area appears to have been
either backfilled during the full demo or the area was sloped back since it was immediately behind the
basement wall fill.
The site is currently winterized for erosion control pending new construction. Since we will be observing site
work for the new house, we can perform density tests once grading commences and the UST area can be
identified and recompacted_ Please note that this area may be graded down as shown on the grading plan_
We hope that addressing this issue during the new construction phase will be acceptable to you, and will not
impact the current permit issuance. Based on the small size of the excavation, and our observations of the
site stability during erosion control inspection visits, we do not feel that this is an issue that requires
immediate attention. Please feel free to call if you have any questions_
Thanks,
Eric Lim, PE
