During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. With the
exception of item #1 below, the required information may be redlined on the current set of
drawings. Thank you.
1.A soils report will be required due to the overall slope of the site. Please see comment letter
from the Planning Division for details.
2.Indicate safety glazing on the window adjacent to the new living room sliding door. Glazing
within 24 inches of the operable portion needs to be safety glazed. R308.4
3.Please clarify the deck ledger attachment on sheet A-3. The table used is not recognized. Please
show justification for the size and spacing of ledger fasteners.
4.Note on the plans that all deck hardware and fasteners are to be corrosion resistant. Hangers and
other brackets are to be coated with a minimum zinc coating of G1.85. Screws and nails are to
be hot-dipped galvanized or equivalent. IBC 2304.9.5
5.Show smoke alarms in each bedroom of the house, and in hallways serving bedrooms. Where
feasible, these smoke alarms are to be hard wired and interconnected. R313.2.1
6.The Shear Transfer detail on sheet S1 will not work for SW2 walls (that exceed 490 plf). Please
show a detail where adjacent panel members split on a 3-by (or two 2-by, stitch-nailed) member,
or use metal clips to transfer the top of wall shear. IBC 2307.1.1
