I have re-reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found that the
following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before review can continue. If you
have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to working with you on this project.

Please provide a written response to the items mentioned below…
1.Nonconforming Building:
Thank you for submitting several photos of the existing detached accessory
structure. In proving that the building is very old and “nonconforming” per ECDC 17.40.020(A), we’ll need to
issue a determination on the nonconformity based on the photographic evidence. I’ve drafted up part of the
determination (enclosed), but I’m still not 100% clear on the photos. Please further elaborate as clearly as
possible – I will use your description in the determination. In the determination, I’ll need to clearly describe the
situation and point to the photographs as attachments. One of the photos shows a forested area in the
background and the shed and home in the foreground, and you mentioned that in 1925 the forested area was
cleared for a house. Is that house north/south/east/west of the site? I was having difficulty searching for this
online at the County Assessor’s website; I’ve tried everything I could to figure it out. Please provide a brief
statement for each photograph submitted that includes the (approximate) year it was taken, describe why the
photo is important/relevant, and the source of the photo (two, you said, were found at the museum). At this
point its just a matter of clearly documenting the evidence. Once re-submitted, I’ll review the explanations,
finalize the determination, and ask Mr. Brewer to sign it. Thank you kindly for your patience.
