Project: Ace Hardware

Project Address: 201 5 Ave S.
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to Theresa Umbaugh, Senior Permit
Coordinator. Thank you.
1.Provide the occupant load for the tenant space based on IBC 1004.1.1
2.Sheet A1.0 shows separate permits required for Mechanical, Plumbing, Gas and Fire
Protection systems. Please re-evaluate whether these are needed or have already been
handled by shell/core related permits. If there will be deferred submittals, generally
describe what their scope will cover to help avoid confusion.
3.Provide seismic anchoring details and calculations for merchandise shelving. Anchoring
of these units is required to be designed and stamped by a structural engineer. ASCE 7-05
15.4. Be aware that the contractor has indicated the intended use of Hilti Toggler Bolts
for the attachment to the floor. Please show these as incorporated into the engineered
design.
4.Provide a key or other means on the plans to identify the type of shelf units to be installed
and provide information sheets for the shelves from the manufacturer so the values in the
calcs can be verified.
5.Show a door in the exterior opening of the Exterior Covered Space. This is Door 94 on
the approved shell/core plans.
6.Two exits are required from the Grills/Outdoor Living Area. Please show on the Exiting
Plan the use of Door 103 as a required exit.
7.As on Sheet A1.0.4 of the shell/core plans, show the dimension of 31-11 ¾ between
Door 100 and Door 103.
8.Show the locations of emergency lighting on the plans. IBC 1006.1.
9.Indicate which of the check out counters are accessible, and provide details and
dimensions showing compliance with IBC 1109.12.3 and ANSI A117.1 Section 904.4.
10.Provide details and dimensions for the 4-0 Service Counter to show accessibility. IBC
1109.12.3 and ANSI A117.1 Section 904.3.
