Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to Theresa Umbaugh, Senior Permit Coordinator. Thank you. 1.Previous item #3: Please recalculate the occupant load. The figures for fixed seating should be 1 person per each 2 lineal feet (not square feet) of bench seat. Be sure and not overestimate the area of the non-fixed dining by including the area occupied by the fixed seating. A reasonable number to use in the dining area is approximately 470 square feet, and at the entry/waiting/queue area is between 70 and 80 square feet. Use a factor of 200 for the kitchen area. Also, it is not necessary to include numbers for the hallway and Please be aware that fire sprinklers will be required if the occupant load restrooms. is 100 or more. IBC 903.2.1.2 2.Previous item #4: Since the restroom doors will be self closing, the hallway must be 54 inches wide to accommodate the door approach dimensions of ANSI A117.1 Section 404.2.3. 3.Previous item #5: Show the correct dimensions of the following restroom fixtures: a.The rear grab bar at the toilet must extend minimum 24 inches from the centerline of the toilet toward the open side of the toilet. ANSI A117.1 Section 604.5.2 b.The bottom of the vertical grab bar should be 39-41 inches above the floor. ANSI A117.1 Section 604.5.1 c.The toilet paper holder should be from 7-9 inches forward of the front of the toilet. ANSI A117.1 Section 604.2.3 4.Previous item #8: Show on the plans that the rear exit leads directly to a public way. If there is a gate in the exit path, it must have panic hardware. IBC 1008.2. This item has not been addressed. Further, what is the use of the space outside the rear exit? If it is to be outdoor seating for dining, please show this on the plans. 5.Previous item #10: Please fill out completely the (attached) Commercial Kitchen Hood Worksheet. This has not been addressed. Also, the new Captivaire specs provided don’t match the information on the Mechanical Summary form or the Equipment list on sheet KC-1. 6.A specification packet has been received for a 3 ton heating/cooling unit, however this unit does not appear on the plans or in the Mechanical Summary form. Please show the location of the unit and any ductwork on the plans and provide the appropriate information in the Mechanical Summary form. Also, if the unit is to be mounted on the roof, structural engineering will be required to show the roof structure can support the weight. If the unit weighs more than 400 pounds, engineering calculations will be required for the design of seismic attachments for ‘unit to curb’ and ‘curb to roof.’ Please indicate the size and location of the gas line to this unit also. 7.Previous item #13: Please modify the plumbing drainage plans per review comments by John Lein, for wastewater pretreatment. 8.Previous item #14: Indicate backflow prevention devices where required on plumbing fixtures. Please indicate either an air gap or RPBA on the supply line for the ice maker. 9.Previous item #15: Please provide a copy of the approval letter from Snohomish Health District. 10.Previous item #16: Show existing (or proposed) accessible parking spaces (one is required), show accessible signage and the travel route from the accessible spaces to the building entry. If the travel route includes a raised front walk, show a code compliant curb ramp. Please show these elements clearly on the site plan: a.Location and dimensions of accessible parking stall including adjacent disembarkment zone. ANSI A117.1 Section 502 b.Signage for the accessible stall. ANSI A117.1 Section 502 c.Details for a code compliant ramp including the slope, width, and handrails. (Handrails are required on both sides of ramps where the rise exceeds 6 inches and the slope is greater than 1 in 20. The maximum slope allowed is 1 in 12.) IBC 1010. Page 2 of 2
