Thank you for submitting a building permit application for a at in the zone. I
have reviewed the above building permit application for the Planning Division and it was found that the following
information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressed before the Planning Division review can

continue. Please provide a written response to the items mentioned below…
1.Site Plan:
Please provide a true and accurate (to scale) site plan for review. I’m enclosing a copy of a map that
I printed out depicting the aerial photo and the parcel lines. Please show the location of the new fence on the
map (label “new”) and show the location of the existing fence as well (label “existing”). The site plan
submitted does not contain property lines, so I’m unable to determine the proposed location of the new fence. I
visited the site to get an idea of the slope, and I’m wondering if you’re proposing to install a fence on your

2.Steep Slope:
As you are aware, there is a steep slope (“landslide hazard area”) in the NW portion of the site –
in the vicinity of the area you would like to install the fence. I need to determine if a geotechnical report will
be required to asses the safety of the fence on the slope pursuant to the critical areas ordinance (ECDC 23.40
and ECDC 23.80). However, I am unable to determine the exact location of the proposed fence. I am
enclosing a map depicting the topography in the NW corner of the site, which may help you figure out where
the fence will be placed. Please be aware that if the fence is proposed at or near the top of the steep slope, a
geotechnical report is required in accordance with ECDC 23.80.070 in order to evaluate the safety of the
project.
