Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to Theresa Umbaugh, Senior Permit Coordinator. Thank you. 1.Please indicate on the plans the construction type of the building and the occupancy group of the new and existing spaces within the building. 2.Since the structural design does not meet prescriptive requirements of the IBC, it will need to be engineered by a Washington State licensed design professional, with stamped and signed plans and calculations. The elements that do not meet prescriptive requirements are the unconventional slab foundation, and the lack of braced wall panels in the east wall. 3.Please provide a detail showing how the 2x10 rafters are connected to the existing wall. 4.Show on the floor plan for clarity the portion of the existing wall that the new space will tie into. 5.Show how “attic ventilation” will be provided to each individual rafter space. IBC 1203.2 6.Please show how the insulation provided meets the requirements of the Washington State Energy Code either prescriptively per Section 1320, for all insulated elements (including slab and glazing); or by Component Performance approach per Section 1330. 7.Please complete the Interior Lighting Budget Form. It may be downloaded from www.neec.net/resources/resources.html under Lighting Compliance Form. WSEC 1530 8.Please indicate on the plans that the existing entry shall have an accessible threshold, accessible exterior landing and lever style hardware. IBC 1008.1.4, ANSI A117.1 404, IBC 3409.7 9.Please verify that the existing checkout counter is no higher than 38” high, or indicate it will be modified, to comply with ANSI A117.1 904.4.2, IBC 3409.7 10.In order to meet the requirements for natural ventilation of the new space, show the opening in the wall between the existing and the new space is at least 25 square feet. IBC 1203.4.1.1 11. Please show the location of the roof drains on the roof plan, and how they are routed to properly dispose of rainwater. Page 2 of 2
