Project: Harbor Square Athletic Club Revision #3, 2 review
Project Address: 160 West Dayton
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you.
1.The toilet room that has been relocated next to the gym door must be accessible, as it does
not meet any of the code exceptions for accessibility. This includes fixture clearances, door
clearances, grab bars, etc. IBC 1109.2 Your response to this item included swing up bars, but
these are only allowed in limited residential applications. Please adjust the plans to show:
a.Minimum 18 inch clearance on the latch edge of the door, on the inside of the
restroom. ANSI A117.1 section 404.2.3
b.Minimum 60 inch width clearance at the toilet from the wall to the sink. ANSI A117.1
section 604.3
c.Provide grab bars (side, rear and vertical) per ANSI A117.1 section 604.5.
2.Please indicate fire retardant treated woodor steel framing in the exterior wall portion of
detail 13/A-5A. Untreated wood framing is not permitted in exterior walls of Type 3A
construction. Please note the plywood sheathing in the detail is fire retardant treated.
