RE: Plan Check: 2009-0707
Project: Wonton Noodle House
Project Address: 22315 Highway 99
During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to Theresa Umbaugh, Senior Permit
Coordinator. Thank you.
1.On sheet A1 Building Height and Area Limitation, please correct the construction type from
Type IV to Type III-B.
2.Add to the list of Separate Permits: Gas Piping, HVAC, Fire Suppression, Type 2 Hood (if
needed for dishwasher and rice cooker locations)
a.Note to applicant- The City advises to take early consideration of all rooftop air
intakes and exhausts, and their proximity to each other and existing air vents.
3. The alterations require accessibility upgrades per WAC 51.50 (IBC 3409.7). On the plans
clearly show that the entire exterior and interior accessible route of travel complies with current
code, or provide upgrades per the previously referenced section. If you choose to use exception
#1 of that section, provide a letter stamped and signed by the architect (reference the code
exception), stating the overall project cost, 20% of the project cost, and list the accessibility
upgrades that will be done as part of this permit as well as showing that the total cost of the
upgrades is at least 20%.
4. Provide the review letter from the Snohomish Health District.
5. Remove the Exit sign from the rear door from the kitchen as it is not a required exit. The
emergency light fixture may remain.
6. Indicate the size of the restroom doors on the plan, to ensure they are accessible.
7. Indicate on the plans that all door hardware is to be accessible.
8. There are no door closers indicated on the plans. If there are to be closers, please indicate this on
the plans, and provide for door maneuvering clearances as per ANSI A117.1 Section 404.2.3.
9. Please provide the model number and the specifications for the dishwasher in order to determine
if a Type 2 exhaust hood is required.
10. Indicate backflow prevention devices where required on plumbing fixtures. Typically, the
following fixtures require backflow prevention devices on potable supply lines as follows:
a.Ice machine: Air gap or RPBA
b.Dishwasher: RPBA
c.Mop sink with hose: Air gap
d.Soda dispenser: RPBA
